How to Install
Wall prep and installation tips for custom and digitally printed wallpaper from people in the biz.
Step 1
After receiving your shipment, carefully inspect your wallpaper, double-checking that you have the correct amount, design, and color. Store materials flat in a temperature-controlled, dry area. Do not crush your beautiful new wallpaper!
Step 2
Walls must be clean, smooth, dry, and structurally intact before installing wallpaper. If your walls are freshly painted, please ensure they are fully dry and have finished off-gassing before application. This can take up to 2-6 weeks, but please note the cure time for your paint. Without allowing the paint to fully cure, your wallpaper could bubble or peel off the wall.
Step 3
Wallpaper does not adhere well to dirt, soap, or grease. Clean the walls with household detergent or a solution of six parts water to one part ammonia, then rinse with clean water. Always turn off the electricity and remove any switch plates, wall fixtures, or outlet plates before you begin to hang your paper.
Step 4
It's time to gather your materials. To get started, you’ll need a level, measuring tape, painter’s tape, an X-acto knife, and scissors. Download our installation guides below for a full list of materials for your wallpaper type.
Step 5
If you’re wallpapering an entire room rather than an accent wall, we suggest starting at a doorway or the least visible corner so the end seam is minimally visible. If you’re installing an accent wall, you can start from either end.
